I went to a fete today in Sutton which is kind of like a small town... festival? There was live, local music with a ton of little booths hosting home grown produce and crafts and lots of household pet competitions. It was in the hills outside of Macc and it was so quaint. We just spent the day sipping locally brewed beer [delicious], munching on fresh grilled sausages [not so delicious, unfortunately] and betting on the wee children racing [okay, that was really just Tom and me... inappropriate but wildly entertaining all the same].
Do you see how beautiful the hills are?? It truly is breathtaking here.
They had a bunch of different heats for the child-racing. These were the babiess- little ones with British accents: too damn cute.
Union Jacks a-waving.
Poor planning on my part... so much mud. And so many worms! The child in me was itching for a bait bucket.
JEEP!!!
There was a cupcake booth... I downed the white chocolate raspberry cuppy before I could be bothered to take a picture. The ones still alive [temporarily] include: vanilla with twill, lemon meringue, and caramel chocolate. Lunch tomorrow!
For tea [aka: dinner] we went to Sutton Hall, this beautiful pub in a 480 year old house on a huge farm property. It's spectacular- and the food was wonderful as well.
