Shallow Pockets Brimming with Rainy Roundabouts

I live in England.

I still can't get over that. I LIVE in England!!
It's amazing.
I left Heartsfield-Jackson a week ago today to start my internship with Edgar Brothers in Macclesfield, UK. Bye Atlanta! See you at Christmas!!

I flew into London for a mandatory orientation with my visa sponsors and stayed a few days with Stephen and his friends.  My first night was James' birthday which was incredible! I got to see literally every person I know in the UK in one go plus I got to meet some more. It was a wonderful start to this adventure.
Once I got to Macclesfield (my new home base) Thea, the head of HR, picked me up from the train station and brought me to my little abode. The Operations Manager, Emma, helped me find a room to rent in what they call a 'share house'- basically it's a row-house with communal bathroom, kitchen, living space and rooftop terrace (!!!) and separate bedrooms.  Her fiance owns it and they're leasing to me for a steal.

My new quarters [the right side- painted in black]:

This is Bridge Street; 85 is the building with the little white 'boxes' on the roof [they're indoor rooms on the terrace]. Here's a tour from entrance to top.

The house is so tall and narrow- look at the bathroom! Itsy bitsy! But the plus to that- it's not drafty when you turn off the shower. That's a big deal when it can get so cold here!
Living room and kitchen space.

And now my room :D

My view [there are adorable courtyards/backyards below but no picture :/].
And the steps leading up to the terrace + that view:

And then I REALLY want to get to know our neighbors- drum set and a telescope? Yes please, can I borrow?! :)

I'll have more pictures of Mac later... the weather has been true to the English stereotypes and it's literally rained every day so not too many opportunities for wandering-pictures... but here's a little taste of my daily intake:

On a side note- I did go to Barcelona this past weekend, however, and there was not a cloud in the sky!  I will have those pictures in a few days.
Europe. So easy to travel. I love it.
